Mainstay Announces New Japanese Distributor

Shows Products to an Expected Crowd of 180,000 at Macworld Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan; February 19, 1997 (Macworld Expo Tokyo): Mainstay today announced that Winning Run Software, Inc. will become its new Japanese distributor. Winning Run will localize and sell Mainstay's Macintosh, Windows, and Internet software in Japan. Mainstay and Winning Run kicked off their new partnership with a booth at this year's Macworld Tokyo -- the world's largest Macworld Expo.

Winning Run Software, the major distributor of Quarterdeck and other US- and Asian-based software companies, has begun sales, marketing, and support of Mainstay products in Japan. Winning Run Software is expected to localize the latest versions of Mainstay's popular Macintosh and Windows products, and its newly announced Internet applications.

Winning Run Software began actively showing Mainstay products at Macworld Expo Tokyo today. With an expected attendance of over 180,000 people, Macworld Tokyo has the reputation of being the largest Macintosh-only trade show in the world. Mainstay's recently announced Internet software, PageCharmer™, took center stage in the Winning Run Software booth.

"Our Japanese customers deserve nothing less than first-class sales and support," said Mainstay president Tom Nalevanko. "We are pleased with this new arrangement, and feel confident that Winning Run will hit a home run for Mainstay."
